FROM IDEA TO COMMERCIAL COLLECTION
This course covers the fundamentals of commercial fashion: from selecting a niche and creating a collection concept to production and retail distribution. Participants will master key collection development processes, learn how to work with manufacturers, calculate costs, promote a brand, and sell through showrooms, stores, and social media.

Vadim Merlis
VADIM MERLIS IS A DESIGNER AND FOUNDER OF THE VADIM MERLIS BRAND. SINCE 2007, HE HAS BEEN PRODUCING CLOTHING UNDER HIS OWN LABEL. HE IS THE WINNER OF THE N. LAMANOVA INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION, A REGULAR PARTICIPANT IN MOSCOW FASHION WEEK, AND A HEADLINER OF FASHION EVENTS IN RUSSIA AND ABROAD.
HE HAS EXPERIENCE AS A LEAD DESIGNER IN MASS-MARKET BRANDS AND FASHION HOUSES AND HAS INTERNED AT THIERRY MUGLER. SINCE 2011, HIS CAPSULE COLLECTIONS HAVE BEEN FEATURED IN MOSCOW DEPARTMENT STORES, AND SINCE 2014, HE HAS BEEN OPENING HIS OWN BOUTIQUES AND BRAND CORNERS. THE BRAND'S PRODUCTION IS BASED IN MOSCOW.
VADIM WAS THE FIRST IN RUSSIA TO INTRODUCE UPCYCLING INTO RETAIL. HIS DESIGNS ARE HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER BY STYLISTS, BLOGGERS, AND CELEBRITIES. HE IS ALSO A FASHION EXPERT ON NTV AND A FREQUENT GUEST ON FASHION-RELATED TV AND RADIO PROGRAMS.
